I love the Augur oracle system and hope to see as many reporters as possible. However security is also very important. There are already several hardware wallets that support Ethereum ERC20 tokens such as Augur.

Is it possible to report using REP in cold storage (such as from a hardware wallet)?

Cold storage is different from a hardware wallet. You will be able to report with REP stored in a hardware wallet supported by your client (e.g., Ledger with Parity). Augur will also likely support some hardware wallets directly in the future.

You will not be able to report with REP stored in cold storage though, as the process of reporting requires signing with your private key.
